Healthy Teeth, Happy Smiles Accreditation!
In October we were awarded with the Healthy Teeth, Happy Smiles accreditation.
The programme's aim is to improve the oral health of children and adults in Leicester and to reduce tooth decay and other associated health issues. It aims to provide free toothbrushes and toothpaste, free baby bottle swaps, and supervised tooth brushing. The accreditation programme was set up by Leicester City Council and promoted by Public Health Leicester. They organised events in the community with beaker swaps and supervised brushing workshops.
On 12th October, we were awarded with accreditation in an event opened by Rory Palmer, the Deputy City Mayor and Chair of Leicester Health. The event was also attended by the Deputy Chief Dental Officer Janet Clarke.
At Moti Smile Design Centre in Leicester, we've been spreading the Healthy Teeth, Happy Smiles message by encouraging good oral health to our patients by providing high standard oral health education and holding open workshops such as our oral cancer open day. We promoted the scheme in our practice by joining the accreditation programme and educating all in the practice to promote the prevention message. We hold monthly clinics at the practice for fluoride varnish application for children between the ages of 3-18 and oral health education for all.
We are really proud of all our team's effort and look forward to helping our patients further to improve their oral health.
